General:


The works should be described in a text file. This file must contain:
- name of competition
- name of work
- name of authors(s)
- contact address

All works must be first presented at NOISE party.

The author(s) don't need to be present at the "NOISE", but in case of the winning, they will not receive the prize.

All works will become freeware at the moment of applying for competitions.

Atari 8-bit rulez


There will be available following configuration:
Atari XE GameSystem, 1024+64kB RAM, Stereo, Atari XF 551 (SD, MD, DD,DS/DD - 320 KB/disk), Atari OS or OS QMEG 4.04, MD DOS (memlo:$1859).
If you need another configuration for presentation of your work, you have to bring it yourself at the party.

I. MSX compo:
- the time of work (composition) must not exceed 3 minutes.
- there is allowed to use instrument or "samples" by another authors but you should to streess that.
- allowed formats: there is no limit, but in case of some "exotic" format you must provide some player (we will use Mega Player 2.0 for exhibit)

II. GFX compo:
- formats: self running or all "standard" picture formats
- presented work may contain any names, symbols or pseudonyms which could identify the author(s).
- there is forbidden to redraw others works. All the graphics must be drawn on Atari!!! No scans, converting, ...!

III. 4k intro compo:
- lenght of intro is max. 4096 bytes.
- intro may be packed.
- intro may contain sound.
- intro must start from DOS, but don't need to come back to DOS at the end.
- intro can be part of some demo just if that demo is also presented on party.
- no other limitations.

- however, if it possible, we prefer:
- intro should be breakable by some key.

IV. Demo compo:
- demo must be run from DOS (memlo max. $2000) or self running (BOOTable disc).
- there is allowed to use extended memory up to 1024 kB, so you can run up to 1088 kB.
- demo should be breakable by some key.
- no other limitations.

Atari ST/STE and Falcon rulez


There will be available following configuration:
- Atari ST, 1MB STRAM and ATARI STE, 4MB STRAM, TOS 2.06
- Atari Falcon with FPU, 14MB STRAM, Phantom (bus at 25MHz, DSP and Videl at 50Mhz), CT60@100MHz with 512MB FastRAM, OS: TOS 4.04, Magic 6.20, FreeMiNT 1.16
If you need another configuration for presentation of your work, you have to bring it yourself at the party.

Please note we joined ST/E/Falcon rulez to one category but ST/E/Falcon competitions will be separated.

- intro can be part of some demo just if that demo is also presented on party.
- no other limitations.

V. Demo compo:
- demo must start from desktop and must come back safely to desktop at the end (only Falcon production).
- demo should be breakable by some key.
- no other limitations

Note for intros and demo:
You can use harddisk capacity, i.e. precalc some stuff and save it in the current directory (e.g. for saving memory, speeding up startup time, ...) but it should be runnable without this stuff for the first time! And please... don't destroy any filesystem ;-)


Realtime compos:



Coding realtime compo:
- exact conditions will be presented at the party
- same (very similar) conditions for all platforms
- people calling for some minimalistic competition will be happy ;)

GFX realtime compo:
- exact conditions will be presented at the party
- same (very similar) conditions for all platforms
- prepare for low resolutions ;)

MSX realtime compo:
- exact conditions will be presented at the party
- same (very similar) conditions for all platforms


mxPlay SKIN compo:


- special kind of graphics competition
- your task is to make the best skin (*.RSC) for mxPlay player
- no limitations for size, number of colours, used resolution, ...


Wild compo:


- anything you can imagine
